Is too much information keeping you from taking action? Every day I’ve been running into people, who when you tell them about a business opportunity or a product or a service, I get back all of the wiki details, Google info and blog commentary you can find, including the rants.
We typically call it information overload, where there is just so much information out there that people can’t seem to make up their own minds or completely freak out unable to make a decision, but I’m seeing it in a slightly different light.
Here’s something to try. Go strike up a conversation with someone and see how much they know. Topic doesn’t matter – everyone’s in the know… about everything, but here’s the question.
Is Too Much Information Robbing You Of Your Guts?
It seems to me that there are a lot of people running around gutless – well informed, but gutless… lots of people with opinions and information, but nobody taking any action – complacent to live in hearsay and never actually risk anything.
Is this what too much information is doing to the masses? I remember when information was there to help you make a decision, not make up your mind for you.
Anybody who is successful knows that building success requires that a. you make a decision and b. you take action; but I see so many people who never get to making a decision because they let too much information stop them in their tracks and they miss out on opportunities.
Is Too Much Information Affecting Your Level Of Belief?
Not too long ago I listened to one of the greatest minds in marketing today speak about why some people take action and some people don’t, and it’s surprising to find out that at the root of what separates the 1% and the 99% isn’t what you know or who you know – it’s what you believe.
What you believe, affects your potential, which affects the actions you take, which brings about the results you get, which re-enforce your beliefs. It’s a self-feeding cycle that will either build you up or tear you down.

Too Much Information Can Steal Your “Moment”
Did you catch what Tony said right at the end of that interview? He emphasized that people’s lives change in a moment. Think about the time you fell in love or had a breakthrough or discovered something new. It’s a moment. One quick moment, not after weeks of studying and researching, or by knowing everything before hand.
Too much information can literally steal your moments from you.
When I first got into business for myself, you know what I heard? I heard a lot of people say just stupid stuff like, “why don’t you just get a job? I heard that running a business is too much work.”
Or, “you know I read somewhere that the majority of businesses fail within the first three years. Are you sure you want to take on such a burden?”
And it’s ridiculous how much everyone seemed to “know” about being a business owner, and nobody really seemed to have experience running a business.
You know what I say about them?
Too much information made up their minds before they had a chance to win…
When I got into Empower Network and started promoting, the very first day I had someone say, “be careful, I heard of a guy who go screwed.” I asked if they were in Empower and if they knew the guy and you know what? Both answers were no.
Who you listen too will affect your bottom line
We all hear the same things. Some people are making it big, some people aren’t making it at all, and some people are just doing and it doesn’t matter what opportunity it is.
Maybe… just maybe the difference between those who do and don’t is simple as not letting too much information make up their minds for them or stop them from taking action.
