Lead Generation on Facebook: This is more for fellow Empower Network members as this is something that gets brought up quite a bit, however anyone can learn from this and apply it to their business.
Lead generation is THE most important part of building any business. The ability to not just create traffic, but turn that traffic into a lead and then a sale will directly impact the balance in your bank account at the end of the day, so I’m going to be as precise as I can.
Just recently I posted about leveraging local searches and part of that was having a Facebook business page, so we can consider this post on lead generation as a follow up if you will.
The one question that keeps popping up is a request for a script or example of lead copy, or a copy/paste message swipe that can be sent to a person on Facebook.
Personally I don’t think there is any “cookie cutter” or sample message for generating leads from Facebook. When it comes to lead generation, the best thought pattern I’ve found to be most helpful is that of my mentor Chris Record, (who is also my sponsor in the Empower Network and a very good friend).
When contacting someone on Facebook, the goal is to establish a communication, not make a sale. Social media, as the name implies, is a very “social” and personal thing, so when you contact someone, it has to be on a level that they can connect with and relate to – that in my opinion is the best lead generation method.
The best way to do that is to visit their profile and learn about them. Check out their “About” section, as well as check out pages they’ve liked and shared, then approach them on their level. Now, he has his own approach which works for him, but I want to share my approach.
Mine is akin to a personal introduction with a stranger (as what happens often when networking, so this is most comfortable with me).
After having learned about the person, (I like to frequent groups), I’d say something like this:
“Hey (their name), my name is Dexter and I ran across your profile while checking out (whatever group they are in) and wanted to reach out an connect with you and find out more about you and what you do,” and start a conversation with them.
I listen to what they have to say, then introduce them to Empower Network in a way that can benefit them and what they do – basically I get on their level and meet them where they are.
My segway is also conversational. After hearing all about them, most often times they pause to allow you to speak or ask you flat out what it is that you do. I relate what I do with what they’re doing and follow up with something like, “Man that’s awesome; listen now that you mention (affiliate marketing, lead generation, making money online, or whatever else that person mentioned), I think we might be able to help each out.”

“I have a system that… “whatever benefits them that Empower Network can offer, (can help you generate more leads, help you earn more money, provide training and marketing, etc).
Most people ask “Have you heard of Empower Network?” While I believe in transparency you want to avoid answering that question directly. I NEVER ask that question up front for one reason. If there is any chance that they have, or have had a bad experience you don’t want to shut off the conversation right there.
Instead, after telling them about what my system can do for them, I say, “It’s called the Empower Network and I’d like to send you some more information. Is that okay?”
Most times they say yes, if they have heard of Empower or have had a bad experience you can dig deeper to find out if they were in before, and if they weren’t you can talk to them a bit more and tell them what’s different about you, the people you’re working with and so on.
In my experience the biggest complaint is that there wasn’t any help or support, so being part of a team, especially my team and having members around you that are helpful is often times enough to get someone to take a second look.
Lead generation is all about connecting with a person so that they show interest in what you do. Use what you know and use your team as your support team. That’s what we’re here for and that’s what Empower Network is all about – professionals helping each other, instead of competing with each other.
The bottom line is be genuine, be yourself and be transparent.
People are attracted to people and the genuine person who cares about others tend to attract others of the same quality… which is what we want.
